Two Dead After Sailboat Sinks In Greenwich Bay Off Warwick

A dive team was deployed, and a Marine Task Force transported two unresponsive victims to the Oakland Beach Boat Ramp.

WARWICK, RI — Marine crews responded to reports of a sunken sailboat in Greenwich Bay off of the coast of Warwick. Late Tuesday afternoon, scanner traffic indicated that a dive team and multiple marine resources were being dispatched to the area.

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management said the bodies of two people — a man and a woman — were recovered by the Marine Task Force and brought in at the Oakland Beach Boat Ramp. Officials said the victims were in their 60s.
