Warwick Mall Showcase Cinema To Permanently Close

The Showcase location on Quaker Lane will remain open.

WARWICK, RI — The Showcase Cinema at the Warwick Mall will close for good next month, but the Showcase location on Quaker lane near the East Greenwich line will remain open.

The manager of the Warwick Mall told ABC6 that the theater's lease is expiring at the end of April. The Bald Hill Road location first closed at the start of the pandemic in March.

The Showcase Cinemas company is owned by National Amusements. The Massachusetts-based holding company is controlled by the Redstone family. National Amusements also owns Paramount Pictures, Simon & Schuster, and ViacomCBS. ViacomCBS announced Monday it will sell $3 billion worth of stock to fuel investments in streaming content.
