Warwick Man Accused Of Sending Explicit Materials To Teen Boy

SCITUATE, RI — A Warwick man is free on $50,000 personal recognizance with special bail conditions after his arrest and arraignment Tuesday on two charges of electronically disseminating indecent material to a minor.
Thomas P. Nolan, 56, of 2198 Elmwood Ave., allegedly engaged in a series of communications with a person he believed to be a 14-year-old boy. The conversation became sexually explicit and Nolan electronically disseminated indecent material to that person, Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Nolan was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Cranston, where he has been employed as an ACI correctional officer with the Department of Corrections since 1990, state police said in announcing the indictment.
The arrest stemmed from an investigation by members of the State Police Computer Crimes Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

"At this time there is no evidence of any involvement with other minors, however we continue to investigate and ask that anyone with information regarding Mr. Nolan contact the Rhode Island State Polcie/Internet Crimes AGainst Children Task Force at (401) 921-1170," said Assistant Detective Commander Captain Robert Creamer.
