WARWICK, RI — A traffic stop for a seatbelt violation led to an arrest and the seizure of 12 grams of crack cocaine.

A Warwick Police Department traffic officer conducted a vehicle stop Tuesday, and the stop led to an arrest for outstanding warrants and for drug-related charges, the department said on Facebook.

Warwick Police Captain Joel Thomas told Patch on Tuesday afternoon that more information will be released shortly, and that the suspect had not yet been arraigned.
