Westerly Dog Killed By Knife In Weekend Altercation
Police responded to a disturbance and found injured people and a dog that had been stabbed.

WESTERLY — A dog was killed by a person with a knife during a domestic altercation over the weekend.
Westerly police responded to a home on Sunday for a report of a disturbance. They discovered that a dog had attacked a person, and that another person stabbed the dog in an effort to stop the attack, WJAR is reporting.

At least two people were transported to Rhode Island Hospital with unknown injuries. The dog was taken to Ocean State Veterinary Specialists where it died of its injuries.
Police Chief Shawn Lacey said the incident is under investigation and charges may be pending. Patch has reached out to the chief for additional information.
