WESTERLY, RI — State beaches across Rhode Island will officially open for the season on Saturday, May 29.

And in anticipation of good weather over Memorial Day Weekend, the Department of Environmental Management is encouraging residents to buy their state beach parking pass in advance at www.riparks.com/beachpass.

Resident, non-resident, senior, and daily flex beach parking passes may be purchased online. The flex pass allows for one-day parking. The beaches will remain open through Labor Day.

"The opening of our beaches is always a special time, and especially after the year we've all had," said DEM Director Janet Coit in a news release. "We hope you make time this weekend to visit one of these spectacular places with your family and friends to watch the waves roll in or take a walk along the water's edge."
