West Warwick Man Arrested in Foxoboro MA On Gun Charges
Police say Richard Chauvette III, 21, was behind the wheel of an unregistered Chevy Tahoe and had a handgun stashed beneath the rear seat.
A West Warwick man faces firearms charges after a Massachusetts traffic stop on Sunday.
Richard Chauvette III, 21, was pulled over on Washington Street in Foxboro. Police say he was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Tahoe that had an expired registration, illegally attached plates, and no insurance.
Foxboro Police Sgt. David Foscaldo executed the traffic stop and called for a tow truck. According to The Sun Chronicle, police obtained a warrant, conducted a search, and found a 9 mm handgun, magazines and ammunition under the rear seat of the SUV.

Chauvette was placed under arrest and charged with carrying a firearm without a permit, possession of ammunition without a permit, improper storage of a firearm, possession of a high capacity magazine and motor vehicle charges.
He was released on $540 bail and was due this morning at Wrentham District Court. Chauvette has a long history of motor vehicle violations in Rhode Island, court records show.
