Angelo's Palace Pizza Celebrates 40 Years

Beloved family-owned Cumberland eatery celebrates with Greek dishes and trip to Greece

Angelo’s Palace Pizza, located at 133 Mendon Road, Cumberland, is pleased to announce its 40th anniversary with yearlong specials and promotions, culminating in an opportunity of a lifetime for two lucky customers - a trip to the Greek Islands in the fall.

Angelo’s Palace Pizza was opened by Angelo and Christine Kitslilis, a husband and wife team of first-generation Greek immigrants, who put their heart and soul into creating a delicious pizzeria in 1978. Since then, Angelo’s Palace Pizza has grown from a hardworking staff of two, to more than 85 employees and the eatery’s footprint and menu have also expanded with the passing years.

Today, the tiny pizza shop of 40 years ago is a 175-seat, full service restaurant serving lunch and dinner with a separate private dining space, Venue 131, with seating up to 110. Known for its delicious and traditional Greek and Italian entrées as well as a huge selection of pizzas, calzones, salads and sandwiches, Angelo’s Palace Pizza has something to please every palate, for any occasion, from date night to a celebration with the Little League team.

In celebration of its anniversary, owner Christine Kitsilis will add a variety of special Greek dishes to Angelo’s Palace Pizza’s menu, in addition to weekly specials. They include delicacies like Saganaki, a pan-fried Greek cheese dish that features special cheese dredged in flour and then pan-seared at a high temperature, resulting in a pan-crusted melted cheese dish that is served flaming and makes a delicious and sharable appetizer; Tiropitakia, small feta cheese triangles that are served wrapped in flakey phyllo dough and baked until golden; Domades, stuffed grape leaves of rice and fresh herbs; and additional favorites from the Greek Islands.

Angelo’s Palace Pizza will also feature Greek specialty drinks from their full-service bar, a Greek Wine Dinner in April and special nights that will feature traditional Greek dancers and entertainment. Throughout the year, customers will be invited to enter into the trip of a lifetime – a trip for two to the Greek Islands including airfare and accommodations. The winner will be chosen in the fall.
