Arrest Made In Fatal Woonsocket Crash

Kirstie Gore, 30, of Woonsocket, is accused of driving off after a fatal crash on Harris Avenue.

WOONSOCKET, RI — The Woonsocket Police Department announced Monday that an arrest was made in connection with a Friday afternoon crash that resulted in the death of a 72-year-old woman.

Kirstie Gore, 30, of Woonsocket, is facing one count of leaving the scene of an accident, death resulting.

The crash happened on Harris Avenue and resulted in the death of Irene Gaulin. Her husband, Louis, 81, was seriously injured.

Police said the couple was traveling south in a gold Toyota when Gore, driving a black Hyundai, turned in front of their vehicle and collided with it. The Toyota veered into the opposite lane and hit a Ford F-350 head-on, police said. Gore then drove off, police said.

Gore is scheduled to be arraigned in the 6th Division District Court Monday.
