Atty. Stephen M. Miller Appointed Lincoln Probate Judge
Longtime resident continues his commitment toward giving back to the community.

Stephen M. Miller, of the Law Offices of Stephen M. Miller, has been named the town’s Probate Judge. He previously served as Lincoln’s Associate Municipal Court Judge.
This appointment serves as another way for Miller, a longtime resident, to give back to the community. In his new role, Miller oversees the execution of wills and trusts, deals with issues regarding emergency motions for guardianships and name changes. Miller presides over the Court on the fourth Monday of each month at 9 AM and added that this position continues his long-standing devotion to public service.
“It’s rewarding both legally and intellectually for me to give back and contribute to this community,” said Miller, who spent 35 years as a real estate attorney and owns a law practice in Providence. “The loss of a loved one is certainly difficult. All I am trying to accomplish is ease the family through the process and make sure all parties are happy under the circumstances,”

Miller said his other passion is helping the homeless. He serves as Board of Directors President for the Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless (RICH). He served in a similar capacity for the House of Hope CDC. Miller’s dedication toward “lending a hand” extends to the Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless (RICOH), The Amos House and the Rhode Island Bar Association House of Delegates.
In addition to his law practice, Miller also receives awards for his community service. Miller received the RICOH “Homeless Legal Clinic Award” in 2011, speaks for the RI Bar Association Foreclosure Prevention and Guardianship and works as a RI Superior Court Settlement Week Mediator. Miller has also dedicated time to the Rhode Island Special Olympics. He is also a founding member of the Business Networking International (BNI) Founders Chapter that meets weekly at Kirkbrae Country Club.
