Budget Commission Tonight, Trash Pickup Delayed, Ghost Army till Friday

Budget Commission - The Woonsocket Budget Commission meets today at 5 p.m. in Harris Hall, third floor in City Hall, 169 Main St. Among the items up for consideration on their docket (see attached .pdf) are requests to fill positions, including two new teachers, an election clerk and a police clerk.

Auditors Cohn Reznick will also make a presentation on the reasoning behind an accounting maneuver Finance Director Thomas Bruce characterized as a $4.8 million IOU from the City to the School Department.

There's a detailed description of the IOU at the link above in case you'd like to ask officials questions that haven't been answered already. The meeting isn't a public hearing, but there is an opportunity for public comment at the start of the agenda.
