WOONSOCKET, RI—U.S. Cong. David Cicilline on Thursday night will present some "long-overdue" services medals to a Woonsocket veteran.
Bob Picard, former Navy medic, earned the service medals more than 50 years ago, while serving as part of the U.S. blockade during 13-day long Cuban Missile Crisis, Cicilline's office said.
Cicilline, who helped untangle the red tape, will present the medals at the Woonsocket Senior Center’s Veterans Appreciation Dinner.
