Ciro's Tavern Featured on Phantom Gourmet

Ciro’s Tavern, the English-style pub in Woonsocket, was recently featured on the Phantom Gourmet.

CBS Boston reported that the bar and restaurant, at 42 Cherry St., was recently taken over by Matt Moylan, his wife Jill and Jill’s sister, Gina Savini.

The business, originally opened in November 2003, serves food such as grilled pizzas with sausage, meatballs and ricotta cheese as well as staple London pub cuisine such as fish and chips.

Ciro’s Tavern aims to provide an atmosphere that has community in mind. Events, such as trivia and karaoke nights, have led to local praise. The bar won The Providence Phoenix’s Best Karaoke Spot in 2011 and Best Trivia Night the following year. There is also the Eddie Wing Challenge, which requires the daring participant to eat eight fiery wings coated in a house sauce.
