Could Amazon Pick Woonsocket For Its Second HQ?
The City made a pitch, according to Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt.

WOONSOCKET, RI — Bids were due this week from communities that hope to lure Amazon. Woonsocket is in the hunt and bid for the siting of their second headquarters, Amazon HQ2, within the City. Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt said Friday.
“The Administration has put together a combined municipal/private-sector proposal which we believe is transformative, imaginative, creative, exciting and workable,” the mayor said.
According to her office, "the idea proposes an array of site choices that will make up the campus Amazon is looking for, which can be acquired and cleared for new construction as well as utilizing existing historic and architecturally significant buildings along the majestic Blackstone River. This provides abundant green spaces, water features and a planned bike-path to service a large professional workforce, as well as develop ‘net zero’ technology and state-of-the-art energy-efficiency and solar technology with a new and fresh urban design and architectural approach to economic development."
