Cruisin' on Main Street Returns to Woonsocket Wednesday

Main Street closed down at 5 p.m. to make way for classic cars, food and family fun.

A once-popular event that combined classic cars and family fun in Woonsocket every summer returns Wednesday after a hiatus of several years.

The Summer Cruisin’ Main Street event returns this Aug. 19 and Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt said that the fun and positive event “gives our residents an opportunity to visit our many great businesses and really see what Main Street has to offer.”

The even runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will feature an assortment of classic cars, family friendly activities, food and music headlined by local favorite King’s Row, which is one of New England’s most popular oldies and classic hits bands.

Bring your own chair if you want. And if you’re passing through the city, keep in mind that Main Street will be closed to traffic beginning at 5 p.m.

“I am pleased to announce that this very popular event will once again be held for the enjoyment of all of our City residents,” Baldelli-Hunt said in a news release.
