Dan Moretti & Brazilia featuring Greg Abate Live at Chan’s October 28th

From Dan Moretti: Rhode Island Music Hall of Famers and Jazz saxophone greats Dan Moretti and Greg Abate will hit Chan’s in Woonsocket for their annual celebration of Latin an Brazilian jazz. Last years performance was sold out standing room only. The recording “Dan Moretti & Brazilia Live at Chans” has become a classic live session and copies will be available that evening.

The original Brazilia CD was recorded in 1995 at Chan’s in Woonsocket RI. Since then both horn players have forged their separate careers in multiple jazz genres throughout the world. In 2016 Abate was inducted into the RI Music Hall of Fame and in 2017 Moretti followed with the prestigious honor. The Brazilia CD being their musical intersection for many years is their only collaborative Latin-Jazz outing. Each artist has recorded multiple CDs, over 30 between them, and have performed throughout the world as solo performers and as sidemen with some of the icons of the jazz and pop music world. Included in the long list are Dave Liebman, Mike Stern, Phil Woods and Nile Rodgers to name a few.

Joining the lineup on October 28th are an international cast of great Latin and Brazilian Jazz players:

Bertram Lehmann (Germany)– Drums , Marcus Santos (Brazil)-Percussion, Walter Platt (Boston)-Trumpet and Gilson Shachnik (Brazil) – Piano and Flavio Lira – Bass (Brazil)
