Former Basketball Coach Returns to WHS as Coach of Providence Sky Chiefs
The Providence Sky Chiefs will host Baltimore Hawks at Woonsocket High School this Friday night.

Woonsocket High School’s former head basketball coach is returning to the school Friday as the coach of the Providence Sky Chiefs.
Kyle Ivey-Jones was Woonsocket High School’s head basketball coach for eight years before he went on to coach the Sky Chiefs in their first season as an ABA professional team.

“I am extremely happy to be returning to Woonsocket this time as a visitor, but still as the home team,” Ivey-Jones said in a press release. “I developed some good relationships at Woonsocket and [I am] appreciative to have coached some good players.”
The Sky Chiefs are hosting no. 4 ranked Baltimore Hawks on at 7 p.m.

The team is ranked no. 10 in the ABA with a 12-6 record.
The no. 4 ranked Hawks have a record of 11-3.
“We are up for the challenge,’’ Ivey-Jones said.
The Sky Chiefs previously lost to the Hawks 130-129 during the team’s inaugural season opener in the ABA on Oct. 31.
“I totally believe the Sky Chiefs will respond, bounce back and get back to our winning ways,” Ivey-Jones said.
