Globe Park School Closed Tuesday & Wednesday Due to Norovirus
According to the schools superintendent and the state health department, the elementary school is closed due to illness.
WOONSOCKET, RI — The Globe Park Elementary School is closed until Thursday next week, due to Norovirus.
Joseph Wendelken, spokesman for the state health department, said this afternoon he could "confirm that Globe Park Elementary School in Woonsocket is seeing a cluster of norovirus cases and will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week."
Schools Supt. Patrick McGee said he made the decision "out of an abundance of caution" after an unusual number of students called in sick the last couple of days and several had to be sent home with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea.

The pre-school and daycare are also closed on Jan. 17 and Jan. 18.
