GoFundMe Created For Man Killed In Woonsocket Motorcycle Crash

Donors have raised over $12,000 to cover the funeral expenses of Eric Wakely.

WOONSOCKET, RI — A GoFundMe created for the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash in Woonsocket has raised over $12,000 to help his family pay for funeral expenses.

Eric Wakely of Woonsocket was killed Friday morning after his motorcycle veered off Providence Street and hit a stone wall, according to investigators. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The GoFundMe was created by Mike Bond, a friend of Wakely and fellow motorcyclist, and surpassed its $10,000 goal within hours.

"Once in a lifetime do you meet a man who truly understands the meaning of the words family, loyalty and honor," Bond wrote. "Eric was the definition of these."

All donations will be given directly to Wakely's brother, Kyle, to help the family cover unexpected expenses due to their loss.
