Life Raft Survival Equipment Acquires Boston-Based Landrigan Corporation

Purchase makes LRSE President Jim O'Connor come full-circle as Landrigan Corp. was his first professional stop.

TIVERTON, RI—In what may be categorized as “coming full-circle” or “small world department,” the head of Life Raft Survival Equipment (LRSE) recently purchased the Boston, Massachusetts-based Landrigan Corporation.

The merger combines one of the oldest companies of life raft and marine safety equipment in the country with the largest such company, said LRSE President Jim O’Connor. Landrigan Corporation began five decades ago by Capt. George Landrigan. O’Connor founded LRSE in 1983. O’Connor said the purchase was more than just business for him.

“It was 40 years ago this month that I began working for Landrigan Corp.,” said O’Connor, who began his career as life raft service technician for Landrigan Corporation in 1978. “George was a mentor to me when he was my employer, and we continued to have a working relationship over the next four decades.”
