
A 50-year-old man has died from injuries suffered in a two-alarm house fire Woonsocket Firefighters were called to this morning at 243 Lydia Ave.
The Woonsocket Fire Department responded to the address for a structure fire at 618 a.m. Crews arrived at the single-story, wood framed, single-family home, which was already heavily engulfed in flame, according to a release from Dep. Fire Chief Roger Perreault.
According to scanner reports, the call went to two alarms at about 6:56 a.m. Crews made an aggressive interior attack, Perreault reported, and search teams located a victim who was evacuated from the building. EMS crews on scene began resuscitative efforts and transported him to Landmark Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
WPRI.com, which has a photo of the home after the the fire, reports the man was 50-years-old.Â
State and local fire marshals, along with BCI are investigating at this time. Deputy Chief Paul Shatraw is commanding the scene, Perreault reported. Â
