Mayor Helps Streamline Arrival of New ‘Louisiana Kitchen’ Restaurant
Waldman Brings Popeyes Chicken to Woonsocket, RI
The former Wendy’s at 2170 Diamond Hill Road in Woonsocket, RI, is now a state-of- the- art Popeyes Chicken. Bringing the deal together were Dan Waldman of Waldman & Associates who represented the landlord, and Chris Williamson of Williamson Partners who represented Popeye’s. The site is across from Walnut Commons Mall with excellent visibility and a high traffic count.
Waldman says he is grateful for the support of Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt: “Woonsocket is going through an economic transition and the mayor told me she would personally streamline any permitting issue. We had several other potential tenants but felt Popeyes has the best long-term potential. We knew the demographics mirror the Popeyes concept. The traffic during the soft grand opening when cars were lined up confirmed that we made the correct decision. Working with Chris and the mayor was a delight.” Popeyes, which recently held a full grand opening, has invested $500,000 into the site and has hired many workers from the local population. The Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Inc., quick-service restaurant franchise chain is traded on Nasdaq under the symbol PLKI. The new location is one of 2,600 worldwide.
Mark Blotner of Kinross Real Estate of Boston and Lloyd Rosenthal of Green Line Realty are the owners. Dan Waldman, licensed in Mass. and Rhode Island, consummated over $105 million in sales and 17 leases during 2016. This Spring, as Exclusive Broker, Waldman brought the Walpole (Mass.) Mall to 100% occupancy for the first time in 30 years. He was recently named a CoStar Power Broker of the Year in an unprecedented three categories.
