Mock Crash At Woonsocket High Canceled Tuesday
The graduating seniors were to see a reenactment of a fatal car crash, including an extrication and response from a medical helicopter.

WOONSOCKET, RI — Rain has forced Woonsocket to cancel a mock crash meant to warn graduating seniors about the dangers of drunk driving. The City of Woonsocket Public Safety Division in collaboration with the Woonsocket Education Department will still be performing a Situational Awareness Event for the entire Woonsocket High School 2017 graduating class. The instructional event will explore the dangers of destructive decisions that typically arise among young adults.
But the first part of the event, which was to take place at Dionne Track, 366 Cumberland Hill Road, across from Woonsocket Fire Department headquarters, has been canceled. The second part of the event will take place at Woonsocket High School Auditorium at 777 Cass Ave. It starts at 8:30 a.m.
