Obituary: Madeleine O. Pierel, 93, of Woonsocket

Madeleine O. Pierel, formerly of Francis St. died Sunday, Nov. 16 on her 93rd birthday, at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Andre E. Pierel. Born in Montreal P.Q. Canada, Nov. 16, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Leblond) Chevalier. Madeleine worked in the combing department of the former Argonne Worsted Co. for twenty four years, before retiring fifty years ago.

She is survived by her son Andre P. Pierel of Woonsocket, a daughter Suzanne Guillet of Seffner, FL and five grandchildren, Jack Guillet, Gary Guillet, Kate Guillet, Jennifer Pierel and Alison Pierel. She was pre-deceased by her brothers, Wilfred, Irene, Roland, Herve, and Lionel Chevalier.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 a.m. from the Fournier and Fournier Funeral Home, on 99 Cumberland St. in Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m.
