Police Investigating 2 Shootings In Woonsocket

Officers say the shootings appear to be related.

WOONSOCKET, RI — Police are investigating two shootings in Woonsocket that took place Monday night, reported WPRI.

Officers responded to the first shooting at the intersection of Wood and Cass Avenues at approximately 8:45 p.m. and found six shell casings on the ground.

About 30 minutes later, police responded to the second shooting on Dean Street and found eight shell casings.

Witnesses told police the first shooting involved a blue or silver Sedan that was driving on Wood Ave. towards Cass Ave. when a passenger fired at the car in front of it.

Police believe the second shooting was a retaliation to the first shooting.

Both shootings remain under investigation and no further information has been released.
