Police Searching For 2 Suspects In Woonsocket Armed Robbery

Investigators say two victims were found uninjured, but some cash was stolen during the incident.

WOONSOCKET, RI — Police are searching for two suspects in an armed home invasion and robbery that took place on Blackstone Street in Woonsocket early Friday morning, reported WPRI.

Officers responded to the home at approximately 2:30 a.m. and found two male victims uninjured, said Woonsocket Police Deputy Chief Michael Lemoine. Some cash was stolen during the incident.

Police say three suspects fled the scene and officers followed them into Franklin, where their vehicle crashed. All three then tried to flee on foot, but one was caught. A search remains in place for the other two suspects.

Franklin police are asking residents to avoid the entire area of Washington Street from South Street to Grove Street as they investigate. Sheila Lane and Tobacco Road will also remain closed until further notice.
