
Back after a week’s absence – thanks Sandy! – not much has changed in the top six.
Woonsocket moved up three spots in the poll, from No. 12 to No. 9, thanks to wins against unranked Chariho and Coventry squads.
The Villa Novans start the Division II playoffs at St. Raphael's 6 p.m. Saturday. Woonsocket is the No. 3 seed from the A-Division, and St. Ray's is the No. 2 seed from the B-Division. The winner will play the winner of Johnston and Central after Thanksgiving.
Although the order has switched around a bit, La Salle, Hendricken, Cranston East and Portsmouth remain the top four in the state. La Salle remains undefeated, while the other three have traded wins and losses against one another.

Behind the top four in Division I lurk the best two teams – so far – in Division II, Johnston and Cumberland. After the top six is where the ballot gets jumbled, with a mixture of mediocre Division I programs, good Division II programs and great Division III programs.

The Rhode Island Sports Media football poll is voted on by 14 local media members who regularly cover Rhode Island high school football. The poll is administrated and compiled by Eric Rueb of Southern Rhode Island Newspapers. Patch’s ballot is cast by Stephen Greenwell, the local editor of the South Kingstown and Narragansett site.
