Here are the top five stories in Woonsocket today:
1. A Woonsocket High School senior has received a $1,000 scholarship from the Northern Rhode Island Board of Realtors. Aalyiah Reynolds is one of two students to receive the award this year. (Patch)
2. The 19-year-old woman who was shot on Japonica Street in Pawtucket late Sunday night has died. Police say a homicide investigation is currently underway. (Patch)
3. Rhode Island is launching a $150,000 study to figure out ways to support minority-owned businesses. The study is a partnership between the Rhode Island Foundation and Gov. Dan McKee and will be performed by the Multicultural Innovation Center and Camion Associates (U.S. News)
4. Prison reform activists rallied at the Rhode Island State House on Sunday to protest solitary confinement, which the Department of Corrections calls "restrictive housing." (NBC 10 WJAR)
5. Rhode Island's first Market Basket is set to open this week. The new location, located on Bald Hill Road in Warwick, will open its doors to the public Friday. (Patch)
