'Smile To Give Her Patients Hope': Woonsocket Local Hero

WOONSOCKET, RI — When times are tough, heroes emerge. But rarely do they get the spotlight they deserve. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've begun an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Kerri Lombardi, who nominated health care worker Suzanne Pratt for her tireless efforts on behalf of her patients during the coronavirus health crisis.

"She has so much love and compassion," Lombardi said, "and also puts her patients first, and has a smile every day even on the hardest days to cope. She has always been a nurse that has an infectious smile to give her patients hope even if in despair."
