The Smithfield YMCA - "Not just a gym"

The Smithfield YMCA is a non-profit organization that is much more than the average gym. There are so many attributes that make this YMCA unique. From their swim program to the events that they host, the YMCA plays a large role in the greater Smithfield community

The Y it is truly a community driven organization in which many strong bonds are made. One family that was interviewed said “ it’s wonderful, no matter what part of the Y that we are in or using, it’s family. They care, it’s a commitment that each one gives and it’s just been wonderful. I couldn’t ask for anything else and I don’t know where I would have gone and gotten any better, I really don’t”. With offerings like summer camps, scholarships, child care, health and wellness programs, the YMCA truly has everything you could want in a gym and more.

On April 29th the Smithfield YMCA will be hosting their annual Big Truck & Healthy Kids Day in Memory of Kristen LaTour. This event will take place at the YMCA located at 15 Deerfield Drive in Smithfield Rhode Island from 11:00am to 1:00pm. The event is free to all YMCA members and non-members. The event will feature a 65 foot extreme obstacle course along with big trucks, healthy snack ideas, workshops, and more!
