Thousands of Bassinets Recalled Because They May Collapse on Sleeping Infants

The company Dream On Me is recalling their 2-in-1 Bassinet to Cradle after part of the cradle collapsed on a sleeping infant.
This item has an adjustable metal frame that cause the sides to lower, which could cause infants to fall out of the cradle, become trapped or suffocate from the half-canopy top and fabric sides, according to PR Newswire.

There was one incident where the wire frame that supports the fabric and canopy collapsed on a sleeping infant in the cradle, United States Consumer Product Safety Commission reported.
No injuries have been reported, the Commission reports.

About 13,000 cradles in the colors pink, blue, green and white were manufactured from May 2012 to October 2014, Dream On Me reports.
The items were sold online at Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Wayfair.com, ToysRUs.com and Kohls.com from May 2012 to October 2014 for about $60 during this time, PR Newswire reports.

Anyone who uses the item should not return the product back to the retailers. Dream On Me is offering a free repair kit to all consumers.
Dream On Me asks cradle owners to not sell, re-sell or donate the item before it is repaired to prevent any future injuries. It is illegal to resell a recalled product, the company reports.
While waiting for the item to be repaired, consumers are advised to find an alternate crib that meets safety standards.
Here are the recalled model numbers: 439-A, 439-B, 439-G, 439-P and 439-W. The numbers can be found on the tag underneath the bassinet mattress pad.
