It was a tied ball game with seconds left despite a 13-point lead by the Sky Chiefs during the second half.

Hawk player Alfonso Hawkins made two free throws with 1.4 seconds left in the game to mark the Hawk’s second victory over the Sky Chiefs this season.

The Sky Chiefs were led by Mark Alexander with 21 points, Kelvin Davis with 17 points, Jamal Wilson with 14 points and Shane DaRosa with 13 points.

“We were missing one of our guys, so once we get him back, we should get clicking again,” Alexander said to On the Outs.

The Sky Chiefs previously lost to the Hawks 130-129 during the team’s inaugural season opener in the ABA on Oct. 31.

“Hopefully we can get them later in the season,” Alexander said in the video.

Ivey-Jones was the WHS head basketball coach for eight years before he went on to coach the Sky Chiefs in their first season as an ABA professional team.

The Sky Chiefs’ record is 12-7 in the ABA. The team is looking to make it to the playoffs. “Every game is crucial from here on out,” Ivey-Jones said in the video.
