Woonsocket Announces Parking Ban Ahead Of Winter Storm
On-street parking will be prohibited starting Wednesday until further notice.
WOONSOCKET, RI—Woonsocket Department of Public Works has announced a city-wide parking ban in effect starting Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. until further notice.
The ban comes ahead of a winter storm warning for late Wednesday until midday Thursday. Many areas of Rhode Island are expected to see between 6 and 12 inches of snow.
Starting Wednesday evening, all on-street parking in Woonsocket will be prohibited to allow crews to safely and effectively clear all roads.

"The City of Woonsocket reminds residents that during the winter season, December 1 through April 1, parking ban restrictions will periodically be placed on city streets in the event of significant snowfall," says the city's website. "In accordance with city ordinance, restrictions on parking along primary streets in the city will be restricted while a parking ban is in effect."
