Woonsocket Announces Parking Ban Due To Winter Weather

The parking ban will be in effect starting 4 p.m. Thursday until further notice.

WOONSOCKET, RI — The City of Woonsocket has implemented a parking ban starting at 4 p.m. Thursday and in place until further notice due to winter weather that is expected to bring three to seven inches of snow to Rhode Island.

During the parking ban, all on-street parking is prohibited to allow for snow plow operators to clear the roads. Vehicles that are not moved ahead of the ban may be towed at the owner's expense.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory Thursday morning that will be in effect until 7 p.m. Friday. Hazardous road conditions are expected and drivers should be prepared for delays during the morning and evening commutes.
