Woonsocket To Honor Veterans At Memorial Day Ceremony
A ceremony is set for Veterans Park on Monday at 10:30 a.m.

WOONSOCKET, RI — A Memorial Day ceremony to honor veterans is set for 10:30 a.m. Monday. Weather-permitting, the event will be held at United Veterans Council of Woonsocket Veterans Park on Davidson Street. In case of rain, the ceremony will be moved to Harris Hall, located in Woonsocket City Hall at 169 Main St. In both cases, the time is set for 10:30 a.m.
According to Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt, the ceremony will include a special recognition to mark the 100th anniversary of the United States’ entry into World War I.
“Woonsocket is a community that has made great contributions and sacrifices towards the protection and defense of our Country both at home and abroad,” the mayor said. “This Memorial Day, we will honor the memory of those in our City who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in our nation’s armed forces.”
