Woonsocket Mayor Announces Memorial Day Ceremony
The city will host a Memorial Day Observance at the United Veterans Council Armed Forces Park at 10:30 a.m.
WOONSOCKET, RI — Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt has announced that the City of Woonsocket and the United Veterans Council of Woonsocket (UVCW) will host a Memorial Day Observance Monday, May 31 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Veterans Council Armed Forces Park on Davison Avenue.
The ceremony will include brief remarks from speakers and a presentation from the Woonsocket Police and Fire Department Honor Guard and Boy Scout Troop #2. Music will be provided by Abigail and Edward Tupper of Woonsocket and the Boston Windjammer Band.
"Memorial Day is a solemn yet imperative remembrance of the brave military heroes who lost their loves while selflessly serving our county and protecting freedom," said Baldelli-Hunt in a statement. "In honoring their lives, we respectfully acknowledge the countless families and loved ones who lost their beloved Veterans."

For those who cannot attend in person, the ceremony will be broadcasted live by WOON 1240 AM radio. In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be cancelled and a notification will be announced on WOON and WNRI 1380 AM.
