Woonsocket Officials Propose Allowing Medical Marijuana Farms

WOONSOCKET, RI — City officials introduced a measure to allow large-scale indoor growing operations for medical marijuana.

The Associated Press reported that proposed repealing part a part of Woonsocket's zoning ordinance that bans indoor marijuana farms. However, the measure would restrict where these indoor facilities could be.

The council will vote on the measure after it plans a public hearing. A Planning Board vote is also required.
