Woonsocket Police Investigating Carjacking Involving Toddler
Police say a car was stolen on Elm Street Monday afternoon while a two-year-old child was still in the back seat.
WOONSOCKET, RI — The Woonsocket Police Department is investigating a carjacking involving a two-year-old child that took place Monday afternoon, reported NBC 10 WJAR.
Police say a car was stolen at approximately 3:10 p.m. on Elm Street when a woman went inside a convenience store and left her toddler in the back seat with the car running.
The suspect allegedly drove down the street before abandoning the vehicle, according to police. Officers found the car less than a block away on Sweet Avenue.

Investigators say the suspect was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and walking down Sweet Avenue toward Cass Avenue.
The child was recovered unharmed, said police.
