Woonsocket Police Release Identity Of Domestic Homicide Suspect
Police say 22-year-old Alex Cote is the main suspect in the shooting death of his father, 43-year-old Adam Castonguay.
WOONSOCKET, RI — Woonsocket police have identified the suspect in the shooting death of 43-year-old Adam Castonguay as his 22-year-old son, Alex Cote, according to a news release from the department.
Police say Cote will be arraigned Friday in Sixth District Court on charges including domestic homicide, discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, and possession of a firearm without a permit.
The charges against Cote stem from an altercation between him and Castonguay that took place early Thursday morning, said police.

Officersresponded to reports of a disturbance at 41 Village Road and found Castonguay unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say Cote fled the scene on foot and was located at approximately 1 p.m. in Pawtucket. He was taken into custody without incident.

No one else was injured in the shooting and the incident remains under investigation.
