Woonsocket Shooting Victim Dies: Police
Police are now investigating the incident as a homicide.
WOONSOCKET, RI — A shooting in Woonsocket is now being investigated as a homicide, police said. The victim, Percy Standifer, 33, died Wednesday night.
The incident happened early Wednesday morning, just after midnight, on Logee Street. Standifer was found lying on the ground, suffering a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and was reportedly in critical condition. He later died, and an autopsy is pending.
No other injuries were reported.
