Prosecutors say Robinson and St. Pierre were involved in the murder of NyAsia Williams-Thomas, who was found slumped over the steering wheel of a car on December 4, 2019. She was rushed to Landmark Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Although the defendants were juveniles at the time of the crime, Rhode Island Family Court waived jurisdiction over them, allowing them to be tried as adults.
