Woonsocket's 2016 Fireworks and Independence Day Concert Set for July 3
The free Independence Day celebration features music beginning at 7 p.m., a lineup of food trucks and fireworks after dark.

WOONSOCKET, RI—The city is prepping for the annual Independence Day concert and fireworks show at Barry Memorial Field on Sunday, July 3.
The public from across Blackstone Valley is invited to come and enjoy music and family-friendly festivities before fireworks are shot off above the field after sundown.
"I am pleased to announce that our annual Independence Day concert and fireworks celebration will once again be held for all of our City residents to enjoy,” said Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt. “Woonsocket’s celebration of our nation’s birthday has become a fixture of the summer season in this community and Northern Rhode Island.”

For 2016, Jeff Gamache and Runaway Train will bring their six-piece act for a two-hour performance that will cover enough genres to please most everyone, dabbling in country, pop, rock and blues. During a set break, Jeff will belt out some patriotic favorites to set a patriotic tone. The show starts at around 7 p.m.
Bring a blanket and lawn chair to enjoy the festivities. Food and drinks will be offered by "a lineup of local food trucks," the city said in a release.

The fireworks will begin at around 9 p.m.
