Deputy Shot In Jasper County; Suspect Dead
The deputy was responding to a domestic incident on Thursday morning, authorities say.

JASPER COUNTY, SC— A deputy was shot after responding to a domestic incident that left one injured and one dead in Jasper County on Thursday morning, Jasper County Sheriff's Office reports.
Authorities responded to the 1800-block of Bees Creek Road near Graham Hall for a domestic incident when a suspect began shooting at the deputies, striking one. The suspect also shot a woman inside the home, authorities say. The individual then was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a post on Jasper County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
The deputy was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in Savannah where she is now recovering from surgery due to possible bullet fragments or a pellet from a shot gun shell entering her eye.
