The mother of Gary Stone asked deputies to check on him Nov. 3. His common-law wife said he was drinking and she hadn't heard from him.
GAFFNEY, SC — The dismembered body of a Gaffney man was found underneath his mobile home and now his common-law wife and her 18-year-old son are charged with murder. The body of Gary James Stone, 51, was found in several containers on Thursday, Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler said in a news release.
Stone's common-law wife, Dawn Michelle Wilkins, 40, and her son, Charles Jacob Bridges, 18, were charged in his death, Sheriff Steve Mueller told media outlets.
Stone's mother asked deputies to check on him Nov. 3, Mueller said. Wilkins told deputies Stone was drinking and had left and had not heard from since, the sheriff said.
