Alex Rodriguez to Rehab with RiverDogs Tuesday

Tuesday appearance part of Rodriguez's recovery from a hip injury.

New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez will make a rehab start on Tuesday when the Charleston RiverDogs host the Rome Braves at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. 

Rodriguez will start at third base and play a minimum of three innings. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. Rodriguez is rehabbing a hip injury.

Major Leaguers that have had recent rehab assignments in Charleston include Brett Gardner (Yankees), Tim Hudson (Braves), Phil Hughes (Yankees), Carl Pavano (former Yankee; current Twin) and Jon Lester (Red Sox).

A three-time American League MVP, Rodriguez was the first overall pick by the Seattle Mariners in the 1993 MLB Amateur Draft. In 19 seasons in the Majors, the right-handed hitter has amassed 647 homers, 1,950 RBI, 512 doubles, and scored 1,898 runs.
