Body of Former Pro Baseballer Recovered After Plane Crash
Joe Johnson was 30 when his Cessna collided with an F-16 near Charleston.

The body of Joe Johnson, 30, a former professional baseball player, was found on Wednesday, according to the Post and Courier.
Johnson was flying his Cessna plane to Myrtle Beach with his father, Mike, when it collided with an F-16 from Shaw Air Force base.
The F-16 pilot ejected safely but Joe and Mike Johnson both died in the crash that left debris in the surrounding area.

The Berkeley County Coroner identified the father and son as victims of the crash in a noon briefing on Wednesday. At the time, Mike Johnson’s body had been found but not Joe’s.
Joe Johnson was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 13th round of the 2006 MLB draft and played for three years in their organization, making it up to the single-A Rome Braves.
