Intimate Apparel opens THIS WEEK!

This moving play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage plays at the Midtown Theatre Aug 27 - Sept 13.

Intimate Apparel introduces us to Esther, an African-American seamstress who sews luxurious lingerie for wealthy white socialites and prostitutes in 1905 New York. At age 35, Esther agrees to marry a Barbadian immigrant, whom she has never met, but has communicated with through a series of letters. Her true heart, however, belongs to the Orthodox Jewish Tailor who supplies her fabric – a man forbidden to her because he is bound by his religious beliefs - and an arranged marriage of his own.
