The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is asking residents for help identifying a man caught on film breaking into a truck on Fort Pemberton Drive late last month.
A James Island resident on Fort Pemberton Drive captured a video of the suspect allegedly using a spare key stolen from the vehicle during a June 2 break-in to gain entry to the truck again on June 28, according to a CCSO statement. Nothing was taken from the truck during the June 28 break-in, however in addition to the spare key, $350 cash was removed from the same truck on June 2. The truck was not locked prior to the June 2 break-in, according to the statement.
The suspect caught on film is a white male, age 20-30, approximately 5-feet 10-inches tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds. Anyone with information about the suspect or the crime is asked to contact Detective Mitch Wilson at 843-308-7320 or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
