Local Stars Take the Stage in First Drive-In Lip Sync For Lungs
Event to raise funds to end lung disease, COVID-19 in South Carolina
Today, the American Lung Association in South Carolina announced that the 5th annual Lip Sync For Lungs, presented by Motley Rice Law Firm, will take place on March 11. The event, which typically takes place at Charleston Music Hall, was reimagined as an interactive hybrid experience. Participants can attend the drive-in event at The Bend or stream the event from home.
The event features local celebrities performing lip sync and dance routines in an epic show-down to win the title of Lip Sync Battle Champion. Former Lip Sync Battle Champions include Lance Oliver (Motley Rice Law Firm), Dr. Yanis Bellil (Roper St. Francis Healthcare), Susan Pearlstine Norton (The Bend), and Robert Beall, DMD (James Island Family, Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry).
“This year’s event will feature some fun and very entertaining local celebrity performances,” said Rebecca Balitsaris, Executive Director of the Lung Association. “During this challenging time, it is more important than ever to support lung health. We are proud that funds raised will help our ongoing efforts to end lung cancer and lung disease, as well as support our new COVID-19 Action Initiative.”

Money raised at the Lip Sync For Lungs will fund the Lung Association’s efforts to end lung cancer and lung disease, as well as support the organization’s COVID-19 Action Initiative. The COVID-19 Action Initiative is an investment to address COVID-19 and protect against future respiratory virus pandemics. The initiative works with public and private entities to increase research collaboration and develop new vaccines, detection tests and treatment therapies.
