Check out five things going on this week in Charleston.

In Charleston there is always something to do; here are just a few things going on this week in the Holy City:

Learn about Middleton Plantation's storied past with Secessionists, Soldiers and Slaves: The Alston family's Civil War, happening daily at the historic plantation. 

Catch a movie at Freshfields Village Starlight Cinema Series on Kiawah Island, Wednesday, Aug. 7. The show starts at 8:30 p.m., and admission is free.

Hop on a summer craft brew cruise out of Charleston Marina on Friday, Aug. 9. Boarding begins at 6:30 p.m., the cruise lasts from 7 - 9 p.m. Admission is $25 per person.

Hook a prize winner off the Folly Pier on Saturday, Aug. 10 as part of Big Kahuna Fishing Tournament.

Check out Second Sunday on King Street on Aug. 11, and enjoy the King Street shopping district as a pedestrian mall.
